Printer's mark on t.p. and colophon (caduceus). First words of title and of sections in woodcut cartouches. Numerous woodcut ill. Giovacchino da Coniano's Trattato dell'ordinanze o vero battaglie is illustrated with diagrams composed of letters that represent troops in various formations. Historiated and foliated initials
"Registro" on leaf [140]r gives gathering Ii as having 4 leaves rather than the 2 which actually occur (without affecting the foliation count). The missigning of Z1 as Y and of Ll1 as Mm have both been corrected by stamping, as in the copy described by Mortimer
